Using Massively{parallel Supercomputers to Model Stochastic Spatial Predator{prey Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
Massively parallel supercomputers open the door to extensive study of ecological simulations that in the past have required prohibitive amounts of computation time. An implementation of a stochastic spatial predator-prey model on such a supercomputer is described. A model that can produce Volterra type oscillations, is extended to study the eeectiveness of preferential migration rules for predators and prey. A comparison of various predator migration rules, and results of an initial investigation into the eeects produced by mutation of predator migration rates are given.

In this paper, we have proposed a study on controllability and optimal harvestingof a prey predator model and mathematical non linear formation of the equation equilibriumpoint of Routh harvest stability analysis. The problem of determining the optimal harvestpolicy is solved by invoking Pontryagin0s maximum principle dynamic optimization of theharvest policy is studied by taking the combined h...
متن کاملDynamical behavior of a stage structured prey-predator model
In this paper, a new stage structured prey-predator model with linear functional response is proposed and studied. The stages for prey have been considered. The proposed mathematical model consists of three nonlinear ordinary differential equations to describe the interaction among juvenile prey, adult prey and predator populations. The model is analyzed by using linear stability analysis to ob...
متن کاملThe Stability of Some Systems of Harvested Lotka-Volterra Predator-Prey Equations
Some scientists are interesting to study in area of harvested ecological modelling. The harvested population dynamics is more realistic than other ecological models. In the present paper, some of the Lotka-Volterra predator-prey models have been considered. In the said models, existing species are harvested by constant or variable growth rates. The behavior of their solutions has been analyzed ...
متن کاملQuasicycles in a spatial predator-prey model.
We use spatial models of simple predator-prey interactions to predict that predator and prey numbers oscillate in time and space. These oscillations are not seen in the deterministic versions of the models, but are due to stochastic fluctuations about the time-independent solutions of the deterministic equations which are amplified due to the existence of a resonance. We calculate the power spe...
متن کاملDynamics of an eco-epidemic model with stage structure for predator
The predator-prey model with stage structure for predator is generalized in the context of ecoepidemiology, where the prey population is infected by a microparasite and the predator completely avoids consuming the infected prey. The intraspecific competition of infected prey is considered. All the equilibria are characterized and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation at the coexistence equilibriu...
